If your idea of a perfect day involves sipping ale while soaking up centuries of history, then lace up your walking shoes (and maybe loosen your belt) — because this pub walk is a toast to London’s past, pint by pint.
🏛️ Williamson’s Tavern
Hidden behind a maze of alleys, Williamson’s Tavern is more than just a cosy watering hole - it was once the residence of the Lord Mayor of London. Today, it serves up traditional pub fare and a side of civic grandeur. Rumour has it, the tavern’s cellar still whispers secrets from its mayoral days… or maybe that’s just the beer talking.
🔥 Ye Olde Watling
Built by Sir Christopher Wren’s workers after the Great Fire of London, Ye Olde Watling is practically held together by history. Legend says Wren himself may have used it as a site office while rebuilding St. Paul’s Cathedral. So yes, your pint comes with a side of architectural genius.
🎨 The Blackfriar
Prepare to be stunned — not by the beer, but by the Art Nouveau interiors. The Blackfriar is a visual feast, with mosaics, copper reliefs, and a monk-themed motif that’s more stylish than solemn. It’s like drinking inside a Fabergé egg… if Fabergé had a thing for stout.
